Abstract
The problem of conjugate heat transfer in gas turbine blades and their cooling ducts is investigated by constructing a highly simplified mathematical model that focuses on the relevant coupling structures and aims to reduce the unrelated complexity as much as possible. Then, the Port-Hamiltonian formalism is applied to the model and its subsystems, and the interconnections are investigated. Finally, a simple spatial discretization is applied to the system to investigate the properties of the resulting finite-dimensional Port-Hamiltonian system and to determine whether the order of coupling and discretization has an effect on the resulting semi-discrete system.
